Inverter AR Training
A hands-on AR experience that teaches learners how to connect a solar inverter safely before working with real, high-value equipment.

Project overview
A high-risk technical procedure became a safe, repeatable learning experience that visitors could practise with their own hands.
Practise before touching real equipment
Connecting a solar inverter incorrectly can damage expensive equipment and create safety risks. Learners needed a way to understand the components, explore different system states and practise the correct sequence before entering a real installation environment.
Turn the procedure into an AR exercise
As part of a five-person team, I co-developed the learning experience and contributed UX/UI, 3D models, product videos and sound. Built in Unity for Meta Quest, the augmented-reality experience let learners explore components, access contextual information and connect the inverter through an interactive sequence. I also demonstrated the experience to visitors throughout the exhibition.
Three days of live international learning
The prototype was presented for three days in the German Pavilion at eLearning Africa 2024 in Kigali and attracted sustained visitor interest at the stand. It was subsequently developed further for integration into the solar course, although the planned rollout stopped when the company entered insolvency.
